Black Hawk County Gaming Association

Black Hawk County Gaming Association is the nonprofit sponsor holding the license for the Isle Casino Hotel in Waterloo. Grants for eligible projects in the service area are accepted in the spring, summer, and fall, with a preference for Black Hawk County cities and nonprofit organizations. Up to 10% of the Isle’s revenue may be distributed to projects in Bremer, Butler, Buchanan, Chickasaw, Grundy, and Tama counties. 

For the fiscal year 2023, 37 projects totaling $5,557,500 were awarded funding.  

Revenue for the Black Hawk County Gaming Association comes from the contracted fees received from the Isle Casino Hotel. Since its inception, the Black Hawk County Gaming Association has gifted over $80 million to projects in seven counties and 51 cities in Northeast Iowa.
